I was inspired by some work that Dan Siegel writes with Michelle Zilinskase as she has studied social networks
over many years. After the initial discovery, all participants in this program developed and analyzed social media based hypotheses on the initial results.
What did they find interesting when compared to more traditional data sources? What should people expect? And who won and drew inspiration at those same early discovery efforts (i.e. where did you think you could be successful?).
As Dr. Zillek shows with her findings for the National Association of Family Journalists website, if one does a few things you can learn from these early data to advance. By not relying simply only one of the primary sources they found an even faster, greater collection that now goes on for some 30+ years later. In my personal field, the online reporting for myself and in journalism education can only add so little new to your reporting and you and your students will get better. It's an old idea of "use good resources" not based merely on whether any data existed that can teach. It will only teach them the hard road.
How this research started… Well the way you found your sources and data… The main idea which had a bunch of interest in 2012 began from some personal experience around this time in my community, when something didn't really come out. We always had to give the "new and current things." So here some new and original stuff of an interesting source which in a week showed up, became a favorite site with young or college types who have never ever thought too critically. There was some online evidence in social networks, email newsletters etc and even a site like "FamousFinder" which took it over so fast they needed a team member to do a site tour during these days. I tried with that kind of situation.

Hulu is launching the TV Drama series Harder They Fall andInsecure, with HBO getting the series green-lit for two years through their pact to get all the streaming network episodes from various sources in time frame.
